About This Gear

A heavy weight, ultra soft super sustainable flannel that is cut to fit a longer athletic build. We added our own stylized detailing to proclaim that it was our own, not another thin ill-fitting shirt. The Timberline Flannel is available in men's sizing and is built to last for years to come for the mountain enthusiast.

// FIELD FUNCTION

The flannel is a nostalgic piece of mountain and outdoor apparel that has been done for over a hundred years. Flannels and mountain culture go together as one. Many companies throughout the years have taken their crack at building and designing their version of this timeless article. We have found that virtually all of the designs out there fit very big and boxy through the body and painfully short in the arms. If you’re lucky you might find one that is made from a heavyweight fabric rather than something that resembles a thin dress shirt material. Most likely it shrinks or warps on laundry day as well.
We at Aspinwall wanted to change all of that. We began sampling fabrics that were brushed on both sides to give it that incredible softness, as well as being preshrunk so that there was no disappointments on laundry day. We then threw out every existing template we found and built our own.

// WHY ASPINWALL EXISTS

Built with a
No-Fail Standard

We Strive for perfection. Derek's father was a helicopter mechanic. In aviation, mistakes cost lives. His rule was simple: do the work right. That same discipline guides everything we build. Every fabric, stitch, and design choice must earn its place — because gear used in the mountains cannot fail. We don’t build apparel. We build equipment serious hunters depend on.
